another day in this messed up neighborhood. . .

So far this morning, I have had to send a kid back for a pass (the same kid I ALWAYS have to send back for a pass, and who always gives me the same lame story about how he can't get one) sent another kid out for a cleansweep (which she said she didn't get yesterday, which might be true because they've started using other peoples names) and had a parent come to my room and accuse me of basically failing her child out of spite. This is the same girl who yelled at me when she got her report card. And who periodocially just puts her head down and refuses to do her work. And who, frankly, can't really add. Needless to say, I printed out her grades and her mother stood down, but it put a real cramp in my morning.

The BIGGEST news is that our principal had a stroke and is in the hospital, he's allegedly doing ok, but I don't think you can tell this soon after a stroke, so who knows. There's no telling what the kids are going to be like, now.

Spring break is starting to wear off. This place is making me nuts, and I"m convinced it's making me fat.

I can't believe it when parents think a teacher can fail a kid just out of spite. Honestly.

I used to work down the hall from a woman with two boys who was on the phone constantly and VERY loudly and I overheard her one day bitching to another mother about how she was sure her son's teacher was out to get him because he got a bad grade on a paper.

I'm pretty sure teachers have better things to do than sit around plotting how to piss off their least favorite students..

I'm extra careful with the grades of students I dont like, because I know they are probably poisoning their parents against me and preparing them for a full-on assault.

in other principal news, Mr County is leaving.
