I'm conducting a poll. No really. Please answer the following question, and tell me about how long it took you.
AT the convention center's internet kiosk, it costs $2.50 to log on for up to 5 minutes. Each additional minute costs 35 cents. Ryder goes online at the kiosk and spend a total of $9.85. How many minutes was she on the computer?

26 minutes... and it took me less than a minute, and I didn't use a calculator OR EVEN PAPER.
26!! Even I can do that one and I suck at math. Took me less than a minute.
My kids didn't get it in 20.
most of my 8th graders were also able to figure this out in about a minute.
