Peace and Quiet

For the first Sunday in a loooooong time, Todd and I did not wake up to the sound pitter patter of little feet. Or, I should say, the BOOM BOOM BOOM of a four year old playing Knights above our head. It was lovely. The entertainment value of our morning has been much lower, though.

If you came to our house, you would think you were in a random neighborhood in the middle of nowhere. We're like 4 exits away from any kind of civilization. Everyone in our immediate vicinity is a nascar fan. The people down the street have a jeep cherokee in their front yard that doesn't have any doors. People let their dogs run free (not us, we have a fence) This is the COUNTRY. However, as we discovered last night, we are a matter of mere minutes from a brand new Kroger.

First of all, you have to understand that new grocery stores make me happy. As previously discussed, I avoid older grocery stores (and any kind of food lion) at all costs. I knew we had all kinds of shopping like 10-15 mintues away (including a panera, target, and moes!) but I thought the nearest Kroger was like 20-25 minutes away. Much to my delight, and thanks to back roads, Todd showed me how close we actually are. Even better, there are "good" beer Krogers and "bad" beer Krogers, and sure enough, this is a good beer Kroger! Microbrew heaven! We picked up a case of Magic Hat Feast of Fools and a Sam Adams Octoberfest last night! (Octoberfest is on special for $12, FYI)

This house just keeps getting better and better.

p.s. AND there's a Five Guys

Coming along

I tried to update my blog the other day, I swear, but blogger was down.

The house is coming along. We have a desparate need for book shelves, as is typical for me and todd. We have a whole bunch of stuff we're getting rid off, if on SOMEONE would come get it :)

I had a weird thing happen to my domain a few days ago, someone tried to steal it!! I kept getting all these emails saying that a request had been made to transfer my domain and please respond to this email, and it claimed to be from bluehost, but the return address wasn't a blue host address, so I ignored them.

Eventually, after like 25 emails, I got some from bluehost, saying that stupid go daddy was trying to steal my domain away. I didn't even know that such a thing was possible. you learn something new everyday.

My Triumphal Return!

That's right, ladies and gentlemen, I am once again blogging from my very own high speed internet connection in my very own home. it's AMAZING. I can't even tell you. Really. It's great.

Pictures to follow, I am WAY too overwhelmed by the boxes right now to post long.

ok, I'm really sorry

that I haven't posted in so long. Todd and I were at the WORLD BEER
FEST in Durham this weekend, and it was tons of fun. I know that sounds
like drunken debauchery, and there were definitely some people there who
fell down and puked in public, but it's hard to get too drunk when
you're standing in lines to get beer two ounces at a time, so it's
really not so bad.

I also got to meet Todd's super cool friend Renee from college who
missed the wedding for some kind of big dog training event ( I know,
bizzare.) but she's hilarious and she can come visit anytime. As can
the rest of you.

Work is still busy, we had staff development today so the kids could be
off for columbus day and it was a nice break, tomorrow it's back to
having 16 year olds talk crap about me behind my back and certain adults
actually listen to them (whatever).

In the most exciting news, we are closing on the house and moving REALLY
REALLY soon. I wont' tell you when exactly, to avoid the stalkers, but
it's REALLY REALLY SOON.

I'm way excited. Now back to packing.

It's that time of the year

when school starts to get CRAZY. I was at work until 5:30 today.
Which for me, and considering I get there at 7:30, is a looong day. I
had interims due (those are like half report cards because we're on a 9
weeks system). There are going to be a lot of unhappy children on
Thursday when they go out. I also started giving back my first test. I
thought they were good, lots of kids in the 80's, and considering it's
PRECALCULUS and it's WEIGHTED I thought that was good, they did not. I
had to listen to a LOT of whining today. But atleast they care.

Anyway, my job is still AWESOME I'm just exhausted.
