My insurance company is redeeming themselves
after one very frustrating day trying to contact my insurance company about aforementioned leak, a "water mitigation" team is finally on their way!

Hallelujah! Hopefully they will have good news which doesn't involve you shelling out large sums of money.
I'm shelling out large sums of money regardless, sadly. At least the 1000 dollar deductible, and they have reserved the right to not cover mold removal.
