waiting sucks.

My new computer shipped on Saturday. I have, of course, tracked it obsessively since then. What I'm wondering is, why does Fed Ex bother to let you track stuff if they're not going to update it??? It still says "departed fedex location" in Sacramento, I know it must be somewhere else by now!!! Poop.

The puppy is big and cute. Her and Beth play a lot. She is still chewing on innapropriate things (darn puppy teeth) but she's doing way less peeing in innapropriate places, so that's nice.

I've been reading a lot of teacher books lately because of my classes. I always really like the stuff I read in Best Practices books, and I definitely agree there are some good ideas. Unfortunately, while learning about being a good teacher is easy, actually doing the things that make you a good teacher is HARD. It requires a lot of breaking habits and leaving comfort zones. No wonder I'm so worn out.

just call me a dotty wanna be

no, not that.

I did, however, just get a SCREAMING deal on a new macbook from apple's refurbished sight :) It should get here just in time for what is, ironically, called "ipod day" in our house. I am excited that it will have all the buttons.

This is a public service announcement

If you are not watching men in trees, you need to start. Immediately. It's Northern Exposure, but BETTER.

update

My computer is turning on again, but I am now missing my f1, f12, return, shift, and up keys. Thanks a lot, Chloe.

Equal time

Bonnie doesn't want to watch basketball, so, frankly, she doesn't see why I should want to either.

Benny wants to make sure no one forgets who's in charge. (I still don't know how to make blogger load vertical images correctly, sorry!)

all together now, awwww!

son of a . . .

I broke my laptop. No, Really. After years of abuse (four years or more, to be vague.) my titanium G4 may have finally given up the ghost. It hasn't held a charge in quite some time now, now it won't charge at all. The puppy has been taking a toll on it lately, too. It had recently parted ways with the Shift and the f12 key. Fortunately, it had two shift keys AND caps lock, so that was ok, and I don't think I had ever used the f12 key. But now, after taking a tumble off the couch last night, it is, in fact, broke. I'm hoping it's just the laptop charger, and that when I find the other one I have at school the situation will be fixed, but for now I have to go ALL THE WAY IN THE OTHER ROOM to use my husband's iMac to check my email. And this right before I FINALLY start my on line classes to renew my license.

poop.

I have been trying to post a picture for DAYS, but blogger keeps giving me errors. This is not the standard I have come to expect from a google product!!

Long time no see!

yeah, I know, I haven't posted in forever. and yeah, I know, you probably don't care.

Chloe is getting really big!! She's gained like five pounds already, she's almost as big as our other dog, Beth. She is doing pretty welll with house training, we have good days and bad days. Right now she's chomping away on a Kong, unfortunately, she'll only chew on them if there's a treat in it. We're doing some obedience training, and aside from being hard headed, she's doing pretty well.

I am obsessed with knowing what they're building in new strip malls. There's one right up the street from us, it's clearly 4 large box stores and several small storefronts. I know two of the large stores are a Marshall's and and Old Navy (yay!) but I have NO IDEA waht the other two are. There's already a ton of development in that area, so there's some process of elimination, but still! I've tried to find info on the internet, but to no avail.

There's another one close to school, all I can find on it is it's an "111,000 sq ft grocery anchored" development. I am, of course, dieing to know what grocery store because a) I am obsessed with brand new grocery stores and b) it would be a super convenient place to stop on the way home.
