Three coats of paint . . .

That's how many it took to cover the dark green the last tenants painted my house in Bynum. It wasnt' that the green was bad, just that it wasn't exactly a "buy me" color. I painted. and painted. Husband tore up the nasty floor, and then we painted the less nasty floor underneath so it looked pretty. The house is way cute and hopefully ready to sell sell sell. I dont' have any pictures, sadly, but maybe I'll post a link once it's LISTED.

We are, though, EXHAUSTED. Even my hands are sore. I can hardly type. Really.

In the meantime, if you want a small investment property that will practically rent itself, by all means, let me know!

The newest member of the family

I know, I know, THREE DOGS. We're crazy. This pretty girl is named Shea (as in shea stadium) and shes a St. Bernard mix. She's close to 100 pounds and shes ELEVEN. That's really old for a st bernard. She still runs and plays in the yard, though, and is a real love bug. You should've SEEN how much fur has been coming off of her with the brush.

I feel like crap.

No, Really. If it weren't for the fact that this will be posted on my facebook and some of my students might read it, I would use MUCH stronger language to describe how I feel. I have been congested and with a sore throat for about a week. I'm pretty sure it's allergies, but when I took a claritin it gave me such bad dry throat that is just made me feel worse (throat even sorer, guzzling water all day) I feel like my congestion is starting to break up and settle in my chest, but I'm still pretty miserable. The worst part is were in the middle of our state testing (we do it before the end of the year in VA, not like you remember in NC) so I am HIGHLY discouraged from taking a sick day.

Now that I have described that in excrutiating detail, I really have nothing else to talk about. Our pool is cloudy, we dont' know why, my pea plants are taking off, Todd put up a trellis for me today for them to cling to, my tomato plants arent' doing much yet, because it's not hot. I can't believe I'm actually wishing for it to get hot.

In other crappy news, my REALLY NICE Onkyo surround sound receiver that I have had for about 5 years and paid a lot of money for thinking it would last me forever BROKE today. It turns back off as soon as you turn it on. The really weird part, the "standby" light is on, so it clearly is receiving power. I hope I can get it fixed. For now, I am limited to listening to tv through the regular speakers, instead of the bose. Crap.

Guess who got straight A's!

That's right, ME. Now moving on to summer school. Hopefully, I can get all this licensure stuff out of the way and clear the way to start my masters degree. What can I say. I follow the way of the Dot. Hopefully I won't be pregnant while I do mine, though, I'm just not that tough.

In other news. I really really really really want this.
I l-o-v-e it. Its been a long time since I was this enamoured of a phone, too. I played with one at the store the other day and it was so much fun to just slide it back and forth. It plays mp3's too, so maybe then I wouldnt want an i-pod so badly. Sadly, my contract with Craptel has a ways to go. Maybe by the time I'm done they'll have them cheaper and not at T-mobile . . .

If the Scavo's break up on Desperate Housewives, it is DEAD to me.

Diet update: I have lost 3 pounds. In spite of drinking a bunch of corona last night.

Ugh

Im on a diet and its making me really grouchy and irritable. I will return when my body adjusts to less calories and I'm more pleasant to be around.
