Amazing Race

I just want to say, I am the queen of FREAKING OUT when frustrated/tired/upset. I will flip my shit when I get really stressed out for no apparent reason.

but . . .

OMG these people on the amazing race!!! There is a scene from next week's episode where this woman FALL ON THE GROUND screaming because she can't milk a camel.

reality tv at its best.

Pre-Gaming

Ok, I know you guys don't like Nascar, but Todd and I are having a lot of fun with it right now. His driver and my driver are first and second in the championship standings (they have been trading first back and forth) with only two races to go!! Much smack has been talked. I will, of course, win in the end, and will be putting my giant blow up race car santa in the yard immediately.

We are also having pre-Thanksgiving today. I *love* thanksgiving, it's like my favorite thing all year, and Turkeys were 30 cents a pound at Ukrops yesterday. Thats right, 30 cents. So we decided to go all out. Unfortunately, my oven is a little persnickety (aka, DEFECTIVE PIECE OF CRAP that randomly decides to shut off when used over 400 degrees) so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

I'm lonely.

Not to be all "I'm alone, internet! Come get me!" (I have an alarm, by the way. and four dogs. and a gun) but my husband is at work like ALL THE TIME this week and last week and I miss him :( this is definitely the major downside of Todds job. On the other hand, a little time apart is probably more good than bad for our marriage. (those stokes' girls always want what they can't have.)

My dog is an A-hole

I love my dogs. All four of them, really. I do. But two of them, in particular, have been giving me some trouble, lately.

First of all, the old lady, Shea, is quite the escape artist. Dog crates the size of hers have two latches, one at the top and one at the bottom. If you accidentally don't latch the bottom one, the big butt can SLITHER OUT THE DOOR. The door is now bent from her doing this, which makes it easier to not latch the bottom latch . . . etc etc. Today, Todd DID latch the bottom latch, and she managed to basically take the crate apart from the inside and get out (if you're familiar with wire dog crates, you can imagine how she basically pushed the front panel until it popped out and squeezed out.)

Chloe, the persistent problem child, has been really good lately, BUT, tonight, she just wanted to fight with everyone. She would sit when I told her to, lay down when I told her to, get off the counter when I told her to (whooooole other issue) but would just randomly try to pick a fight with a dog who walked past her.

Pain.

Lexi, who is a total sweetheart, just doesn't want to be still. Does anyone have a really good dog toy to recommend? They're not big fans of kongs, unless they're stuffed, and that's expensive, they like hooves, but I'm not sure it's good for them. My friend, Renee, has these cool nylabones that look like rawhide bones. I'm thinking about trying some of those.

woe' out

It's that time of year, our first round of grades are due, Im way behind in both of my online classes, I have to go to NC this weekend, I am teaching again saturday morning this week and next, and Todd is in tech. Things here are just NUTS.

In the realm of good news, I got a super cute hand made gift from dotty today, a sweet bookmark with a picture of me and Todd from our wedding. It's very sweet.

In the realm of blea, I got my first rating on ratemyteacher.com. It wasn't good. on the one hand, I dont really care. On the other hand, you try really hard to by helpful and clear to your students, so when you get a 1 out of 5 for helpfulness and a 2 out of 5 for clarity it means you're not doing SOMETHING right for SOMEBODY and that's a little disheartening.

oh well.
