I felt like I had to make up for it
by finding a way in which ron paul was also psycho. it was very easy.
For example, ron paul thinks we should abolish the department of education and public school and everyone should just home school their own children! Isn't that a great idea????? I wonder why we didn't think of that before!

Who tells you these things? He wants to return control of public schools to the public by eliminating federal control of them. States and local school boards would have control of the schools.

Yes, there is, when it eliminates any kind of national standards. I'm not a huge fan of NCLB, but the standards based movement that has come out of it is a good thing.
As long as we have a national economy and students apply to colleges all over the country, there needs to be some kind of uniform national standards and national oversight.
Ron Paul wants home school diplomas to carry the same weight as regular diplomas, but refuses to place any standards whatsoever on homeschooling families. In other words, I can teach my child whatever I want, leave out all of mathematics, if I want to, but colleges had better give them equal standing with students who graduated from public schools.
How does that make sense?
I agree about the national standards thing. And trust me, eliminating federal control of the public schools system will NOT be giving it back to the public. My local school system (Wake County, NC) has been battling with "the public" for a few years now over what is best for the students and district.
